Shopify agency for multilingual, multi-country stores

We're a Shopify agency for brands that sell in more than one country, or whose products need more than a standard theme. That can mean language versions with their own URLs, VAT set up per country, a product configurator or a quote basket for B2B buyers.

The Shopify stores we build

We build custom Shopify stores and themes, product configurators with live pricing and quote baskets for B2B, and we set up language versions and VAT per country in one store. It suits brands that sell to customers in several countries, and stores whose products don't fit a standard theme.

Who a custom Shopify store is for

Our Shopify work suits brands that sell in more than one country, or want to, such as a Dutch brand adding a German version of its store. It also fits B2B companies whose buyers want a price before they order, and stores where customers pick options or upload artwork and need to see the price straight away.

What you get with a Shopify store from Hault

We start with your catalogue and the countries you sell in, and the features follow from what you sell. One store needs a configurator, the next a quote basket or a booking with a deposit, and a store moving from another platform needs its old URLs redirected.

Custom stores and themes
A new Shopify store, or a redesign of the theme you have, built around your catalogue.
Product configurators
Configurators with live pricing, file upload and automatic order forwarding to a print partner.
B2B quote basket
A quote basket where business customers put together a request instead of checking out.
Booking with deposit
A booking flow where customers pay a deposit, as we built for Gül Reizen.
Selling in several countries
Language versions with their own URLs, and VAT per country through the Shopify product category.
Catalogue SEO
SEO fields and structured data on every product, so Google and AI answers can read the catalogue.
Migrations
A move to Shopify from another platform, with your products and a redirect map for every old URL.

Shopify stores we built

Each of these stores needed something different from Shopify, and we agreed those features in the blueprint before building anything.

Birun Print & Sign has a Shopify store with product configurators, live pricing, file upload and automatic order forwarding to the print partner.

The store with product configurators has been live since 28 August 2026, in Dutch and English, and every order goes to the print partner automatically.

How we build your Shopify store

We start with your catalogue, the countries you sell in, your apps and the way orders reach you. Then we agree the structure, the language versions and the VAT setup in a blueprint, and you click through a prototype of the key pages. Before launch we set up the redirects and test real orders.

  1. Kick-off and audit
  2. Blueprint
  3. Prototype
  4. Build and launch
  5. Automate and improveOngoing

A Shopify project usually takes 6 to 10 weeks, depending on the size of the catalogue and the number of countries you sell in.

When a standard theme is no longer enough

A standard Shopify theme works well for a simple catalogue. Once customers have to choose options, upload their own artwork or ask for a quote, the store needs features a theme doesn't have out of the box. We build those into the theme, so the store fits the way your products are actually sold.

Birun Print & Sign, a print and signage company in Amsterdam and Almere, is a clear case. Almost every order has a different size, material and quantity, so the price has to be worked out while the customer chooses. The configurators we built do that, take the artwork in the same step and send each order to the print partner without anyone at Birun passing it on.

B2B buyers often want a price before they commit. A quote basket lets them collect products and send a request instead of checking out. We built one for Private Label Specialist, our own brand, on its custom site, and the same setup works in a Shopify store.

You don't always need a new store. For Gül Reizen, a Turkish-Dutch travel organisation, we redesigned the existing theme and added a booking flow where customers pay a deposit, so a trip can be reserved without paying the full amount at once.

Selling in several countries from one store

One Shopify store can sell in several countries when each country gets its own language version with its own URLs, and VAT is set up per country through the Shopify product category. You keep one catalogue and one back office, and Google can index each language separately.

Avrupa Yöresel sells Turkish regional products from Amsterdam to the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France, but its store used to be entirely in Turkish. It ranked for 0 of 506 keywords in its customers' language. It now has Dutch and German language versions with their own URLs, VAT rates set up per country through the product category, and a menu cut from 20 groups to 8.

We build Dutch, English and Turkish versions and add German and French ones for clients. Midoricha, our own brand of ceremonial matcha, had four languages from the start, with its journal and legal pages in all four as well. Building the language versions in from the beginning saves you a second project later. Our page on multilingual websites goes into the URL structure and hreflang.

Moving your store to Shopify from another platform

When you move from another platform, we bring your products and content across and map every old product and category URL to its new address. Before launch we test those redirects and place real test orders, so problems show up in testing instead of on your first day of sales.

Birun Print & Sign already had a website when its new Shopify store went live on 28 August 2026, so we set up 301 redirects from the old URLs and added an English language version.

SEO (search engine optimisation) on Shopify starts with the product data, so we fill in the SEO fields and structured data on every product as part of the move. With live reporting from Search Console, GA4 and Merchant Center, you can then follow how your products do in search without building the reports yourself.

Working with us as your Shopify agency

You work with our core team of specialists in Dutch, English or Turkish, from Amsterdam. A first meeting is always online or by phone. You can book strategy only, full delivery or a long-term partnership, and a project usually takes 6 to 10 weeks.

After launch, the people who built the store can keep going with it. That might be our SEO and AEO work, which covers Google and answers in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, or a connection between the store and your accounting software through our AI automation work.

Example: for two searches in a row, a page on yourbrand.com climbs to the top spot in Google and the AI answer names that page as a source.

What a custom Shopify store costs

What it costs depends on the size of your catalogue, the number of languages and countries, custom features such as a configurator or a quote basket, and whether we move your store from another platform. Every project gets its own proposal. After a 30-minute intro call, you'll receive a proposal with the scope, timeline and price.

Frequently asked questions

What does a Shopify agency do?

A Shopify agency designs, builds and improves online stores on Shopify. For us that means custom stores and themes, product configurators, quote baskets for B2B, booking with a deposit and migrations from other platforms. On top of that we set up stores that sell in several languages and countries, with VAT per country through the Shopify product category, and we fill in the SEO fields across the catalogue.

What does a Shopify developer do?

A Shopify developer writes the code behind a store, such as the theme, custom sections and features that Shopify doesn't offer as standard. For Birun Print & Sign that meant product configurators with live pricing, file upload and automatic order forwarding to the print partner. Our developers work in one team with designers and SEO specialists, so the code, the design and the SEO are planned together.

What is an e-commerce agency and what does it do?

An e-commerce agency helps companies sell online, from the store itself to the systems and marketing around it. We build Shopify stores, set up language versions and VAT per country, and connect the store to the rest of your business, for example with automatic order forwarding or live reporting from Search Console, GA4 and Merchant Center. After launch we can run SEO for the catalogue, so new products can be found in Google and in AI answers.

Can one Shopify store sell in several countries and languages?

Yes. One Shopify store can serve several markets, each with its own language version and URLs, and VAT can be set up per country through the Shopify product category. Midoricha, our own brand, sells from one store in English, German, Dutch and French. With a large catalogue, a product audit can come first, as it did for the 773 products of Avrupa Yöresel.

Can you move my online store to Shopify?

Yes, we migrate online stores to Shopify. We move your products and content, set up collections and SEO fields, and build a redirect map so your old product and category URLs keep working. Before launch we test the redirects and place real test orders. If your catalogue needs work first, we start with an audit of the products before anything moves.

Can you redesign our existing Shopify theme?

Yes. We can redesign the theme you already have instead of building a new store, so your products, customers and orders stay where they are. For Gül Reizen, a Turkish-Dutch travel organisation in Amsterdam, we redesigned the existing theme and built a booking flow where customers pay a deposit. We start by looking at what works in the current store and what doesn't.

How long does it take to build a Shopify store?

A Shopify project usually takes 6 to 10 weeks. A store with one language and a clear catalogue sits at the short end. Several countries, a large catalogue, a configurator or a move from another platform add time, and so does slow feedback. After the intro call you get a proposal with the scope, the timeline and the price.

Do we need a Shopify agency or a freelancer?

A freelancer can suit one small change to a theme. Once the store needs language versions, VAT per country, a configurator or a migration, the design, the code and the SEO depend on each other, and that is easier when one team does all of it. Our developers, designers and SEO specialists work on your store as one team until launch.
