Where our own brand Midoricha started

Midoricha is our own brand of ceremonial matcha, and it started as an idea. To reach customers in more than one country, it needed a brand and packaging of its own, and a store that works in four languages.

What we made for Midoricha

We worked out the brand strategy and the visual identity, and we designed the packaging. We built a Shopify store in English, German, Dutch and French, with a journal and legal pages in each of those languages, and we wrote an SEO and AEO plan.

Brand strategy, identity and packaging

We started with the brand strategy, which sets out who the matcha is for and how the brand talks to them. The visual identity and the packaging grew out of that strategy, so the pack and the store look and sound like one brand. A visual identity sets the look of a brand, from the logo to the colours, and for Midoricha it also had to work on the packaging. Because Midoricha is our own brand, the whole route from the first idea to the finished packaging ran through our own team.

One Shopify store in four languages

The store runs on Shopify in English, German, Dutch and French. With one store for all four languages, the products and the orders stay in one place, while each customer reads the shop in their own language. Shopify can show the product texts and the checkout in the language a customer picks, so one store can sell in several countries. Multilingual, multi-country stores are also part of our Shopify work for clients, for example for Avrupa Yöresel, which now has Dutch and German language versions with their own URLs.

A journal and legal pages in every language

The journal gives the brand a place for longer stories, and it's available in all four languages. The legal pages are in every language too, because customers should be able to read the terms of a purchase in the language they buy in. Each language has its own version of these pages, so a customer never has to switch language to read them.

An SEO and AEO plan

Midoricha's plan covers SEO (search engine optimisation) and AEO, the work of being found and cited in AI answers, for a brand that sells in four languages. People in different countries search with different words, so each language needs its own research before its pages can be found. The plan sets out how the brand will be found in Google and in AI answers, and it gives the work after the launch a clear direction. You can read how we run branding projects like this on our branding page.

What Midoricha's customers can do now

Customers can read about the matcha and buy it in English, German, Dutch or French, with the legal pages in the same language. The SEO and AEO plan sets out how the brand will work on getting found in Google and in AI answers.

Customers build their own print job, see the price straight away, and the order goes through to the print partner.
